“The best ABA programs have a flexible approach.”

– Temple Grandin

What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a specialized treatment approach that decreases problem behaviors and increases pro-social behaviors through the use of science. ABA uses board-certified clinicians that are highly trained in behavioral assessments, program development, supervision, and data collection to determine the most effective approach to treat individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Applied Behavior Analysis uses a tiered approach that includes a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to address behavioral challenges.

What is a BCBA?

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst is a behavioral clinician who has received a Master’s Degree in applied behavior analysis, completed 1500 hours of supervision with a BCBA during their education process, and passed a certification exam from the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). A BCBA must complete Continuing Education Credits each year and is responsible for implementing, designing and supervising all aspects of therapy.
